Biography

After grad I completed Phase IV AERE training and then went off to Summerside for my first tour. This was followed by consecutive tours at NDHQ followed by tours in Cold Lake and Toronto. The mid 1990s saw the Force Reduction Program where the military was looking for volunteers to leave. I volunteered and left in 1994.

I was going to leave anyway. I was dating a lady named Patti at the time and had received a posting message. Rather than breaking up, I decided to leave the Air Force and stay in Toronto. The FRP was a bonus. Two days after my last day in uniform Patti and I got married.

After leaving the Air Force, I went back to school and earned a diploma as a computer programmer. This was rather ironic since I wasn’t very good at this at RMC. After a short contract with the Bank of Montreal, I took a position with The Hospital for Sick Children. I helped maintain a data warehouse, did some web programming, and automated tedious tasks for hospital staff. This continued until 2018 when Patti and I both retired.

For local fun, we play golf and dance – Ballroom and Latin. We also scuba dive. In fact that’s how we met. We have dove all over the Caribbean plus Hawaii, Fiji, Palau, Galapagos, and the Red Sea.
